Special Delivery to
Mexico Saves Car Plant $100,000's! -
1st November 2000
Without an immediate supply of vital
brackets, a car plant in Mexico would have to shut
down its assembly line at a cost of US$100,000 per
hour. Cargo flight availability to Mexico City meant
the parts would not reach the factory until Wednesday
15/11/00 - two days too late. Wallis Shipping were
called to assist by their Mexico agents and, undaunted
by the lack of direct flight seats, sent Dominique
Linch, one of their operations staff, to Mexico City
via Houston Texas. Laden with two 500kgs boxes, Dominique
arrived on Saturday in time to hand the cargo over
to their agents for delivery to the Corsa assembly
line before the deadline.
This is not the first time Wallis have
been faced with urgent requests. In the past, Wallis
consignments have included chartering two aircraft
to carry confectionery to Australia for a promotional
launch when supplies ran out.
