Record Delivery to
South America -
25th January 2001
A leading Rugby company has just despatched
its largest ever delivery to South America. Wallis
Shipping Services, based in Regent Street in the town
centre, has just arranged to transport thousands of
tonnes of electrical and mechanical equipment for
a water treatment site in Venezuela.
The enormous cargo will be loaded on
to just one ship leaving the Suffolk port of Felixstowe
before making its long voyage half way round the world
to the South American country. The equipment was supplied
by ALSTOM Power Conversion and will form a vital part
in the operation of the new water treatment site in
Venezuela.
Managing Director of Wallis, Stuart
Gregory, said: "This is a truly exciting project
for our Rugby office and the biggest ever shipment
we have made to South America. I'm delighted ALSTOM
Power Conversion chose to use Wallis, it shows our
standing in the industry and proves we are one of
Britain's leading shipping companies."
After a brief stop over in Europe the
ship will head off on its long voyage to South America
arriving in a few weeks' time.
