Spanish Eyes Turn Towards
Colchester Firm - 30th January 2004
A leading Colchester shipping firm, Wallis Shipping,
has just returned from representing the town at a
major industry conference in Barcelona.
Four representatives from the firm, based on the
Severalls Business Park, travelled to the Spanish
city to take part in the second Annual Conference
of the Security Cargo Network.
SCN is a worldwide association of independent freight
forwarding companies set up to create new business
opportunities and scrutinise all aspects of the safe
transportation of global cargo. The organisation has
102 members representing 97 countries including: the
UK, China, Singapore, Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Germany,
Australia, the Netherlands, Norway, Bangladesh, Pakistan,
India, South Korea, Vietnam, Italy and Canada.
Managing Director of Wallis Shipping, Stuart Gregory,
said: “This was a fabulous conference with many
more members joining in the last 12 months. We are
certainly being seen as a powerful global voice for
the freight forwarding industry. It was also good
to fly the flag for Colchester. As a result of the
trip we have already received enquiries from Indonesia
and Thailand. This is demonstrating that Wallis Shipping
is spreading its wings!”
Mr. Gregory is a Director of the SCN’s management
group and is also a vice-president of the members
Security Cargo Financial Group.
