Change for Asian Appeal - 8th April 2005
Employees from Wallis Shipping
have turned their rupees, Euros and yen into £3,500
to help Tsunami survivors. Spare change picked
up on their travels by staff will go towards an
international fund organised by aircraft charter
company Chapman Freeborn Group, who will convert
it into dollars and pass it on to the International
Red Cross.
The money will be used to
fund rebuilding work after the Boxing Day disaster,
which devastated coastal areas of Indonesia, Thailand
and Sri Lanka. Managing Director of Wallis Shipping,
Stuart Gregory said: “As a company involved
in travel, we raised all sorts of different currencies
and everyone has been tremendously generous.”
