Dominion showcases its talents to the world- 11 August 2008

A leading web-design company has been flying the flag for Colchester town at a major shipping conference in Dubai.

Representatives from Dominion, a web services business based on Severalls Business Park, travelled to the global business hub to attend the 6th annual Security Cargo Network (SCN) conference and showcase the new state of the art SCN website.

SCN is a worldwide association of independent freight forwarding companies set up to create new business opportunities and scrutinise all aspects of the safe transportation of global cargo. The organisation is represented across the globe including China, Singapore, Australia, Ukraine, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Thailand, India, Japan, Malaysia and Kuwait.

Dominion has been working alongside its sister company Colchester-based Wallis Shipping for more than 12 years, and has now used its knowledge of the shipping industry to create the new specialist website.

Account Manager for Dominion, Carol Bell, who gave a talk at the conference, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to design a website for an international network. With our extensive knowledge in shipping it was perfect for us and adds to our extensive portfolio.”

And attending the conference has already proved hugely beneficial to the sister companies with both Dominion and Wallis Shipping in discussion with new clients concerning new international contracts.

Stuart Gregory, Managing Director of Wallis and a Director of the SCN’s management group, said: “SCN is now firmly established as a powerful global voice for the freight forwarding industry and as dedicated members we believe it certainly assists us in providing a top-quality service.

“As a result of the trip we have already received many enquiries with a potential contract to ship equipment for the London 2012 Olympics. We’ve moved various shipments involving past Olympic Games and are extremely excited at the thought of this continuing!”
