Pinstripe Creative acquires Dominion to form a multimedia and web design Powerhouse - 16 Jan 2009

Essex web and multimedia company Pinstripe Creative has bucked the economic downturn by acquiring the leading web design and Internet specialists, Dominion, from Colchester-based global shipping experts, WSS Group’s Wallis Shipping. The expansion ushers in major benefits for the clients of both.

Wallis Shipping created Dominion in 1994 to design, implement and improve Information Technologies within the WSS Group and also for external clients. Since then, Dominion has grown to be a highly respected Internet services expert, creating websites for customers in a wide variety of industries.

Pinstripe Creative is a relative newcomer to the multimedia industry, but has consistently punched above its weight to become a market leader in less than two years. Set up in 2006 by award-winning print company Palladian Press, Pinstripe offers electronic technologies that complement top-quality, traditional print services: web design, 3D animation, video, kiosk applications, hosting and much more.

The two companies will continue to trade under their respective names and are now based together at Pinstripe Creative’s new offices at Chandler’s Row in Colchester. By joining forces to supply professional web design services and multimedia, they can provide a much wider range of specialist services. The acquisition is a particular coup for Pinstripe, which can now offer Dominion’s expertise and experience to its existing customers, as well as extending its reach far into other business sectors.

Managing Director of Pinstripe Creative and Palladian Press, Paul Douglas, who negotiated the acquisition, has set himself the target of offering Dominion’s clients an even higher standard of service, as well as increasing the combined company’s market share over the next twelve months. Announcing the news, he said: “This is a development that will not only give customers of both companies greater choice and value, but it is also one that clears a path to the forefront of the multimedia industry. We have a detailed strategy to develop interactive and online products that are presently unavailable elsewhere. 2009 is going to be a year of major expansion that will establish Pinstripe Creative and Dominion at the top of their field.”

Wallis Shipping Managing Director, Stuart Gregory, is equally pleased by the deal and knows it was the right decision to take on behalf of Dominion’s extensive client base. He said: “the additional resources and expertise available from within Pinstripe Creative will enable Dominion to considerably extend the service range for its existing client base and ensure top quality customer support. We are very excited about the prospects of this new venture”.

The new development has also created a huge buzz in Pinstripe Creative’s new state-of-the-art premises. Technical Director Ben Green explained why: “I am thrilled to welcome the Dominion team to Pinstripe, and I am particularly looking forward to working with new account manager Carol Bell and learning from her expertise in agency management, sales, project management and – of course – being introduced to the huge number of clients she has acquired for Dominion. The merged business will have astounding technical and creative resources, and I can’t wait for us all to get our teeth into developing the new products and services that will make the coming year our best ever.”
